The September Ruby is dependable hardy apple for northern growing climates.
Once ripe, this enjoyable apple is nicely sweet and flavoured. Wonderful juice maker, great for fresh eating and all your favourite apple recipes. The skin has a light green base and ripens in stripes to a deep warm dark red in colour. The average size of the apples is around 5 to 7 cm (2 1/2") in diameter. The flesh is greenish, crisp and moderately acidic.
The September Ruby apples ripen in the middle of September and store up to 4 months in cold storage. The tree grows naturally semi-dwarf in size and is very reliable with generous fruit yields year after year.
