The Ptitsin #5 is a rare plum and our favourite from the the Ptitsin series of plums. Plums are greenish to light yellow in colour and average 3 cm in diameter. These are firm, freestone and pleasantly very sweet. A nice dessert plum, easy to eat out of hand. Can be known to drop prematurely before fully ripening on tree. Need to be brought indoors for a few days to ripen, then they are good to go. Can harvest by mid-August in most years. Known to pollinate other plums.
